Bay roan can often be
confused with blue roan. A blue roan horse's head, body, and
flanks should be completely black and the body should not have
a brown tint to it like that of a bay roan horse. Having a mahoghany
bay roan horse can be especially hard to tell from a blue roan.
In this case, a DNA test would be the best way to find out the
true color.
